Children's Furniture Brand
SERVICES PROVIDED:
Email Automations, Email Campaigns, Retention Strategy
The client creates whimsical, vibrant furniture designed to grow with a child. As a young, stylish brand, they were successfully attracting new customers but lacked a strategy to keep them. They needed a partner to build a professional retention ecosystem that reflected their "happy and vibrant" brand identity while maximising the lifetime value of every parent who entered their store.

Challenges
With only a basic Shopify email setup (Welcome, Cart, and Thank You), the brand was missing the opportunity to nurture relationships. From March to October 2025, their total email revenue sat at just £5,584 over eight months. They had no consistent campaign schedule and no strategy to bring parents back for the next stage of their child’s growth.
Audit and Issues Found
- Infrastructure Gaps: The brand was relying on the bare-minimum Shopify email defaults.
- Stagnant Revenue: Between March and October 2025, email generated only £5,584—a negligible fraction of their potential.
- Zero Engagement: There was no regular campaign schedule, meaning customers only heard from the brand during a transaction.
- Leaky Funnel: No sophisticated upsell strategy or journeys existed to capture lost interest.
The Solution
We stepped in to move this client beyond "basic" and into a high-performance retention engine with Klaviyo. Our strategy focused on three pillars:
Advanced Personalization Logic:
We implemented conditional logic within cart and browse abandonment flows. If a parent looked at beds, they received content focused on helping them choose the best bed for their child; if they looked at lamps/other accessories, they saw content related to choosing products that elevated their existing home decor.

The "Growth" Upsell Strategy:
We moved away from generic "Thank You" emails and replaced them with automated post-purchase journeys centered on room curation. Using advanced logic, we triggered recommendations for items that matched the specific aesthetic of the customer's initial purchase. For example, if a parent purchased a charming bed, the sequence automatically suggested a matching chair or a whimsical lamp that tied the entire vibrant look together. This "Complete the Look" approach transformed a single transaction into an interior styling experience, making it effortless for parents to build a cohesive, stylish room.
Consistent Brand Storytelling:
We moved away from sporadic emails to a regular campaign calendar. These weren't just "sales" emails—they were thoughtful, vibrant touchpoints that reflected the brand’s aesthetic and kept the brand top-of-mind for all home goods and furniture-related requirements whenever the kids room needs a makeover.

Oct '25 – Feb '26 (5 Mos) | £112,155 | Letterbox Strategy |
Improving the "Repeat Purchase" Engine
The real success of this project is visible in the Cohort Analysis. By implementing personalised upsells and category-specific logic, we saw a marked increase in customers returning to the store within 0–3 months of their first purchase.

As seen in our data, the "Size" of new customer cohorts grew from single digits in early 2025 to 174 new customers in January 2026 alone, with a healthy "blue heat" moving across the chart, indicating that these customers are staying engaged and buying again.
Conclusion:
By replacing a "set it and forget it" Shopify setup with a strategic, data-driven retention engine, this children's furniture brand has successfully bridged the gap between a "young brand" and a "market leader" with Letterbox Media's strategy. Our retention and email strategy is now in place to scale their whimsical world to thousands of more homes in the UK.
